Our video guide outlines the process for maintaining your staff image and, if you're not on the pure system, your personal statement. Only when additional information is available, for example a personal statement, will a full-page be available until then you'll appear only on the staff list page.
Writing your personal statement
Style & tone
Keep written content conversational in tone, with a focus on your expertise and professionalism.
Think about your audience – everyone from current students, school pupils, to funders and other academics. Write as though you're talking to them, not at them.
Language
Remember that we have a global audience so use language that’s easy to understand and free from jargon. Keep your sentences as short and concise as possible.
Include areas of interest that aren't directly related to your current role like language skills and/or outside interests etc.
Write in the first person and in a friendly manner.
