Content type fields

Name - This is a mandatory field. You must give the content type an appropriate name that corresponds with your content, for example Chemistry research centres. The name isn't shown on the live web page.

Main Heading - This is the heading that will appear at the top of your link box. Type an appropriate heading into the text box, for example 'Our research centres.'

Summary text - You can use this field to include any further information you may wish to add under the Main Heading field and above the multiple links. Enter any text you wish to include into the HTML box. Once you've updated this and are back in the main text box ensure that you put your text into paragraphs by highlighting it all and selecting Paragraph from the Format drop down menu.

URL - This field is where you add links. There are two ways you can add links:

  • to link to a page within the website, type a suitable heading into the text box, highlight the heading and then click 'Insert Section Link' in the Format bar. Then using the site structure navigate to the page you want to link to and click on it
  • to link to a page within the old Strathclyde website or to an external website (for example www.bbc.co.uk), type a suitable heading into the text box, highlight the heading and then click 'Insert/edit link' in the Format bar. Then, enter the full URL of the page you want to link to (including http://) in the 'Link URL' field. Ensure the 'Target' field remains at 'Open in this window/frame' and then click 'Insert'
